Our Story
What started with my dad, Brian Vonderau, and his passion for plants and the outdoors grew into BLV Enterprises, a family business built on hard work, honesty, and an eye for detail.
More than 35 years of experience in The Woodlands and surrounding areas has taught us far more than which plants look good together. We understand the local soil, the weather, the way properties in this area drain, the expectations of the communities we work in, and the challenges that can come with building and renovating here.
Over the years, we have also developed trusted relationships with builders, suppliers, trades, and subcontractors. Experience has taught us who can be counted on to meet our standards, communicate well, and follow through, as well as which relationships are not the right fit for our clients or our projects.
When my dad passed the torch, I carried that foundation forward through NJV Enterprises. The company has continued to grow, but the values behind it have stayed the same: know the work, treat every property like it is our own, communicate honestly, and stand behind the finished result.
We do not just build landscapes. We build long-term relationships with the homeowners and custom-home builders we work with. Our commitment to quality, communication, horticultural knowledge, and follow-through is what sets us apart.

Some landscapers specialize in routine maintenance, weekly mowing, and smaller-scale projects. There is value in that work, but it is not where NJV is focused.
We specialize in more ambitious landscape planning and execution: custom homes, complete property transformations, major renovations, drainage overhauls, landscape lighting, retaining walls, premium hardscaping, and projects where every detail needs to work together.
“We build yachts, not canoes” is our way of describing that difference. We take on a select number of substantial projects so each one receives the planning, communication, coordination, and craftsmanship it deserves.
We are not interested in rushing through the work or applying a surface-level fix. We want to understand the property, create the right plan, bring together the right people, and build something worthy of the home it surrounds.
